Job Summary
The Distribution Center Loaders are responsible for efficiently loading and unloading products into and from dry van trailers including flatbeds. Prior forklift experience or ability to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner is required.
Pay Range: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loading & unloading of trailers including flatbeds
- Maintain proper trailer weight distribution while maximizing trailer cubes/space
- Perform piece counts to verify accuracy
- Scan merchandise into inventory using scanning equipment.
- Scan product and pallets to truck Ids in an accurate manner.
- Print price tags and price merchandise accordingly.
- Break down merchandise into smaller quantities for shipping to retail locations.
- Assist with floor loaded shipments both inbound and outbound.
- Responsible for accurate allocation of quantities.
- Submit packing slips and freight bills as necessary.
- Cross check quantities to packing slip making necessary notations when needed.
- Load merchandise onto proper pallet shrink wrap when necessary.
- Properly secure shipments to prevent product and trailer damage.
- Practice safety in the workplace by using safe work habits with a safety-first mindset.
OTHER DUTIES
- Other duties as assigned for facility operation and deadline needs.
- May require travel to assist in other facilities or training.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Computer skills required.
- Forklift experience required.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
- Long periods of standing & sitting
- Frequent bending and twisting
EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior warehouse experience preferred.
- Prior Forklift experience required.
- 1 year prior shipping and receiving experience preferred.
