About the role:

We have a full time Day Service Coordinator vacancy at Oakley and the Woodlands Day Centres based in Cheltenham.

As a Day Service Coordinator youll help people to lead fulfilling dignified lives.

The Oakley Day Centreis purpose built day service for adults with learning is run as a needs led service with activities being planned using information gathered through Person Centred Plans. Examples of current activities are swimming art this role you will be able to demonstrate experience of working with adults with learning disabilities.

The Woodlandsis an independent service situated in the grounds of Oakley Adult Opportunity Centre in Cheltenham. It is a purpose built day service for adults with learning disabilities including Autism complex needs and behaviours that can challenge individuals who may not integrate as well in your traditional social environments. There are many aims to this service particularly maximising service user choice independence and this role you will be able to demonstrate experience of working with adults with learning disabilities complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Working with management as well as on your own initiative youll encourage people to take part in sessions and activities to enhance their independence. Youll also develop care plans and risk assessments to help people with their personal care and day-to-day needs. By working closely with parents carers and other professionals youll help us achieve positive outcomes for the people we care for.

About you:

As well as an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification youll also have hands-on experience working with people who have physical mental health or behavioural needs. Committed to enhancing the lives of people with a range of abilities youll be confident providing personal care and administering medication.
