Job Summary
Leidos is seeking a Data Engineer to support CDC DHP data modernization analytics and cloud-based data management initiatives. This role provides hands-on technical expertise for development migration testing validation and sustainment of analytical workflows supporting surveillance research reporting and operational activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions.
- Support migration and modernization of SAS-based analytics and reporting workflows.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes and cloud-based data engineering solutions.
- Implement automated testing validation and monitoring processes.
- Support data ingestion transformation and delivery across multiple analytical environments.
- Develop reusable code technical documentation and deployment procedures.
- Collaborate with architects analysts and program stakeholders to support modernization objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Science Engineering Information Systems or related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in data engineering analytics software development or cloud-based data management.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with Python R SAS PySpark or comparable technologies.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting CDC HHS or public health data systems.
- Experience supporting SAS-to-Python SAS-to-R or similar modernization initiatives.
- Experience with EDAV (Databricks Azure Data Factory Delta Lake R Studio PowerBI Tableau) 1CDP (Palantir Foundry) Azure SQL Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting migration from SAS to other analytics solutions (e.g. R Python Databricks Palantir Foundry).
- Experience supporting dual-run validation equivalency testing and controlled migration approaches.
- Experience with Git CI/CD DevOps and cloud deployment practices.
- Preferred Certifications: Databricks Data Engineer Associate/Professional Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) Azure AI Engineer Associate or equivalent.
- Masters degree preferred.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87100.00 - $157450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
