Data Conversion Developer
Duration: 1 year contract
Location: Onsite in Olympia WA (MUST BE LOCAL TO WA)
Project Details: This person will be supporting the State of WA HBE project

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Business Analysts data engineers and project stakeholders to understand source-to-target mappings business rules and data transformation requirements.
• Design comprehensive test strategies test plans and reusable test cases for data conversion and ETL workflows.
• Validate data throughout the migration lifecycle by extracting comparing and analyzing data between source and target systems.
• Perform SQL-based data validation and reconciliation to ensure completeness accuracy and consistency of migrated data.
• Develop Python scripts to automate data validation reconciliation and quality checks where appropriate.
• Execute ETL testing to verify data transformations mappings and business logic.
• Identify document and troubleshoot data discrepancies working closely with development teams to resolve defects.
• Support integration and system testing efforts related to data conversion activities.

Required Skills:

• 5 years experience with SQL and Azure SQL.
• 5 years of hands-on experience using Python for data analysis automation or validation.
• Experience performing ETL testing and validating complex data migration processes.
• Ability to analyze large datasets and compare source and target data for accuracy.
• Strong understanding of data mapping transformation logic and data quality principles.
• Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data conversion or migration testing on large enterprise implementations.
• Experience developing automated data validation or reconciliation scripts.
• Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse or cloud-based data platforms.
