Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician 3 to support server and infrastructure operations within enterprise data center environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with server hardware troubleshooting cabling deployments and data center operations while working in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare stage install and decommission data center hardware including servers racks switches and storage devices.
- Perform hardware diagnostics troubleshooting and component replacement with minimal downtime.
- Execute cabling labeling grounding and quality checks according to deployment standards and safety procedures.
- Support OS rebuilds firmware updates and hardware refresh activities.
- Troubleshoot Layer 1 3 networking issues and assist with server fleet health monitoring.
- Document processes SOPs KB articles and technical findings for operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and escalate incidents when required.
- Maintain SLA/KPI expectations while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Data Center Technician.
- Strong server hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics experience.
- Experience with Windows Server OS WinPE and IPMI tools.
- Basic Linux administration and scripting knowledge (PowerShell Python or Bash preferred).
- Networking knowledge including Layer 1 Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and within distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science IT or related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A Server CCNA MCP or MCSE preferred.
- Experience with PXE environments and virtual machine configurations is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and standing/walking for extended periods in a data center environment.
- Ability to safely use tools equipment and personal protective gear as required
