Data Analyst Co-op

JOB SUMMARY

ITT Flow Technology is looking for a college co-op student to join our Mixing Industry Continuous Improvement Team. The student will be responsible for helping with improvements to the manufacturing processes as they relate to digital processes and tools. Tools that will be used will include SAP BW4Hana Power Query Power Apps Power BI and other MS products.

The Co-Op can expect to complete 1-2 major Projects and several smaller focus improvements.

Pay: $25.00HR

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect clean validate and organize data from multiple business systems and sources.
• Assist in analyzing large datasets to identify trends patterns and actionable business insights.
• Develop and maintain reports dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI Tableau Excel or similar platforms.
• Support ad hoc reporting requests and data analysis projects for various business functions.
• Write and modify SQL queries to extract transform and analyze data from databases.
• Perform data quality checks and help identify and resolve data discrepancies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and key performance metrics.
• Document data sources reporting logic and analytical methodologies to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Assist in the automation of recurring reports and data processes to improve efficiency.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to team members and business partners as needed.
• Maintain compliance with company data governance security and confidentiality standards.
• Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends patterns and business insights.
• Ability to collect clean validate organize and analyze data from multiple systems and sources.
• Working knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI Tableau Excel or similar platforms.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL with the ability to write and modify queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel including formulas pivot tables charts and data manipulation.
• Ability to perform data quality checks identify discrepancies and support resolution of data issues.
• Ability to translate business needs into reporting requirements metrics and meaningful analysis.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy consistency and completeness.
• Ability to develop clear dashboards reports and visualizations that effectively communicate findings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to document data sources reporting logic processes and analytical methodologies.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Interest in process improvement and automation with the ability to identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency.
• Understanding of data confidentiality governance and security principles.
• Demonstrated curiosity initiative and willingness to learn new systems tools and analytical techniques.

Education

• Working towards BS degree in Data Analytics Data Science Computer Science Information Systems Statistics Business Analytics or a related field is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis reporting and business intelligence concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI is preferred.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
