Job Summary
The DAS Braille QA Analyst is responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of braille materials to ensure they meet industry standards and are accessible to users. This role requires a keen eye for detail a thorough understanding of braille transcription and a commitment to delivering high-quality error-free documents. This position reports to the DAS QA Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine braille documents for accuracy consistency and completeness.
- Identify and correct errors in formatting spelling punctuation and braille code usage.
- Collaborate with braille transcribers application developers and production staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of braille standards and best practices.
- Prepare reports and feedback on proofing outcomes as needed.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
EXPERIENCE
- Proficiency in braille reading and writing; certification in braille transcription preferred.
- If not currently braille-certified willingness to work toward obtaining braille transcription certification.
- Experience with assistive technology (e.g. screen readers refreshable braille displays and accessibility tools).
SKILLS
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with relevant braille software and proofreading tools.
- Excellent communication skills.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma
