Job Purpose and Impact

The Dairy Trial Application Scientist will manage planning and execution of high-quality research trials including development of protocols coordination of trial timelines deliverables and this role you will contribute to the delivery of innovation research and projects through supporting researchers and drive digital innovation in research processes. You will be accountable for a core area within enabling science or trial application and supporting the innovations centers in systems and in markets. This role combines hands-on trial execution with the opportunity to shape digital tools and data solutions making it ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of science technology and operations.

This position requires the candidate to be based in Elk River MN or the surrounding area.

Key Accountabilities
  • Plan and perform quality assurance for trials and keep continuous and active dialogues with researchers species unit lab and feed processing.
  • Lead continuous improvement together with trial teams using measurable performance indicators and drive scientific method development in cooperation with researchers.
  • Lead and support digitalization initiatives within trial operations including data handling reporting tools and process optimization.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed and updated and trials comply with the safety program and animal care policies and provide coaching to technicians for trial execution.
  • Responsible for the setup monitoring recording and reporting of trial results with appropriate partners.
  • Work with scientists and feed processing technicians to ensure accurate formulation and ingredient procurement.
  • Lead core activities for trial or unit excellence in food safety quality and regulatory and animal welfare that include coordinating resources updates for trial findings and performance of statistical analysis.
  • Act as customer liaison to identify how market trends affect the business to enable appropriate decision making.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of two years of relevant work experience
  • Relevant experience in formulation and statistics
  • Experience or knowledge in dairy nutrition or animal nutrition and health
  • Able to travel up to 30% domestic and international

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in animal science nutrition or related science
  • Experience in running research trials prefer focus in dairy
  • Analytical statistics knowledge
  • Multi species experience in research trials
  • Experience in deploying digital solutions
  • Innovative agile thinking and adaptability with strong attention to details
Applicant Information

The expected salary for this position is $70000 to $95000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location certifications education and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
