Job Summary

Job Summary:

The D365 System Administrator is responsible for the administration configuration support and continuous improvement of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and related business applications. This role serves as the operational owner of the D365 platform ensuring system stability security performance and user adoption while supporting business processes across Finance Supply Chain Projects Asset Management Procurement and Corporate functions.

The D365 System Administrator partners closely with business stakeholders Business Systems Analysts developers implementation partners and vendors to maintain a secure scalable and well-governed ERP environment. This role is responsible for system administration security management workflow administration release management environment management issue resolution and user support.


Responsibilities/Essential Functions

(% of time may vary depending on assignments/projects)

  1. D365 Platform Administration (35%)
  2. Administer and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environments.
  3. Manage system configurations parameters and administrative settings.
  4. Monitor system health performance batch jobs and integrations.
  5. Coordinate environment refreshes deployments and system updates.
  6. Manage Lifecycle Services (LCS) activities and environments.
  7. Support application upgrades testing and release deployments.
  8. Maintain system documentation and configuration records.
  9. Identify opportunities to improve platform stability and performance.
  10. Security & Compliance Administration (20%)
  11. Administer user accounts security roles and permissions.
  12. Perform periodic security reviews and access audits.
  13. Ensure segregation of duties and security best practices are maintained.
  14. Support internal and external audit requests.
  15. Maintain security documentation and role definitions.
  16. Monitor compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  17. Coordinate user onboarding role changes and offboarding activities
  18. Workflow & Business Process Support (15%)
  19. Configure and maintain D365 workflows and approval processes.
  20. Support business process owners in identifying workflow improvements.
  21. Troubleshoot workflow and approval issues.
  22. Assist in evaluating system enhancement requests.
  23. Support process standardization initiatives.
  24. Partner with Business Systems Analysts to implement approved changes.
  25. Application Support & Incident Management (15%)
  26. Serve as a primary escalation point for D365 system issues.
  27. Troubleshoot application configuration security and integration issues.
  28. Coordinate issue resolution with internal teams and external vendors.
  29. Monitor support tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  30. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  31. Support end-user training and knowledge transfer activities.
  32. Maintain support documentation and knowledge base articles.
  33. Release Management & Continuous Improvement (15%)
  34. Coordinate testing and deployment activities for system enhancements.
  35. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  36. Maintain release schedules and deployment documentation.
  37. Validate changes before production deployment.
  38. Assist in evaluating and prioritizing enhancement requests.
  39. Participate in application governance and roadmap discussions.
  40. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the ERP platform.


Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Information Systems Business Administration Computer Science or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310) preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate (MB-330) strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) preferred.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate (PL-200) is a plus.
  • 3 years administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Experience managing ERP security roles and permissions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise business applications.
  • Experience with application troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting software releases and deployments.
  • Experience working with business users and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience documenting system configurations and procedures.

Preferred Experience

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Lifecycle Services (LCS).
  • Azure Active Directory / Entra ID.
  • Power Platform.
  • Power Automate.
  • OData and Data Management Framework.
  • ERP integrations and middleware solutions.
  • Manufacturing Construction Services Distribution or Asset Management industries


Work Environment/Physical Requirements

The physical demands of are generally light and primarily aligned with office-based work unless visiting operational facilities/sites.

Specific requirements include:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or other digital devices.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing writing and handling office equipment.
  • Occasional walking during on-site visits to different areas within the organization.
  • Active listening and clear speech are essential for effectively supporting and coaching leaders and employees.
  • Ability to lift carry or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment as required.
  • Availability for on-call support and occasional after-hours work for maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
