Role: Cytotechnologist

What Youll Do

• Examine and interpret gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens accurately and efficiently following established laboratory procedures.
• Issue final diagnoses for negative GYN cytology cases; submit all non-GYN results for pathologist review and final report release.
• Verify specimen acceptability and patient identification throughout all processing stages.
• Maintain quality control (QC) proficiency testing and CLIA/DHMH compliance documentation in a timely and organized manner.
• Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) proceduresprepare and stain slides for evaluation.
• Accurately input test requests and results into Cerner while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
• Proactively expand your technical knowledge and participate in continuing education.
• Communicate effectively and courteously with pathologists nurses and other healthcare professionals contributing to a collaborative lab culture.

• Education: Bachelors degree in Life Sciences Medical Technology or related field.
• Experience: 13 years of cytology or related clinical laboratory experience.
• Certification: Cytologist (ASCP or equivalent).
