The UHealth Laboratories Department has an exciting opportunity for a full time Cytogenetics Technologist 3 to work in Miami FL. The Cytogenetics Technologist 3 performs advanced and complex cytogenetic testing and interpretation while serving as a senior technical expert within the laboratory. This role supports assay development complex troubleshooting and laboratory quality initiatives.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Performs advanced and complex cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic testing independently.
2. Interprets cytogenetic results and evaluates findings for accuracy and clinical relevance.
3. Develops validates and implements new cytogenetic testing procedures and methodologies.
4. Provides advanced technical expertise and troubleshooting support to technologists.
5. Reviews testing results generated by other technologists as assigned.
6. Identifies and resolves complex technical analytical and workflow issues.
7. Monitors equipment performance and ensures optimal laboratory functionality.
8. Participates in the review and revision of laboratory manuals and SOPs.
9. Assists with preparation for inspections audits and regulatory surveys.
10. Escalates unusual events technical concerns or unexpected results to leadership.
11. Serves as a mentor and technical resource for less experienced staff.
12. Participates in continuing education and advanced competency activities.
13. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in relevant field required
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
Valid State of Florida Molecular Pathology Technologist license required
