Operates within the plant in accordance with Airgas SOPs. Responsible for safety and the internal preparation of residual and new cylinders during the work shift. Attention to detail ensures that the facility is able to meet its commitments to its customers.

  • Contributes to a safe work environment by completing all job assignments according to Airgas SOPs.

  • Scraping labeling and painting of cylinders

  • Moving of cylinders by usage of a cylinder cart and/ or forklift.

  • Loading and unloading of trucks within a supportive team setting

  • Matching up receiving returns with common carrier paperwork

  • Ensuring all documentation matches cylinders

  • Supporting the team to ensure cylinders go out in a neat and presentable condition

  • Cylinder sorting

  • Ideally you bring a basic understanding of CFR 49

  • Keeping a clean and orderly work area

  • Familiarity with Special permits

  • Basic computer operations for data entry and training

  • Utilizing basic calculations

  • Other collaborative duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Performs venting purge and vacuum of specialty mixes and pure gas cylinders. Operates multiple blow-down panels. Responsible for safe operation in processing high-pressure cylinders using manifolds vacuum pumps valves gases and pneumatic tools. Performs installation and removal of CGA valves in cylinders. Operates forklift. Enters data in Production Planning software. Moves prepared product to fill stage area. Sort cylinders by type and CGA. Other duties as assigned.

Are you a MATCH

High school diploma or GED. 1-2 years experience in cylinder handling preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Ability to read analyze and interpret complex instructions such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to co-workers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. Ability to walk and move heavy equipment is essential.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
