Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular OR Tech / CVOR Surgical Technologist to join our Open Heart Team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience scrubbing complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures and be comfortable working in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist with cardiac surgical procedures including:
- Cardiac bypass procedures
- Valve replacement surgeries
- Robotic lung procedures
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field surgical instruments and equipment.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during complex cardiovascular procedures.
- Ensure appropriate instruments and supplies are available throughout each procedure.
- Maintain strict sterile technique and follow OR safety and infection-control protocols.
- Participate in the departments on-call rotation maintaining a 30-minute response time.
- Be willing to scrub general OR cases when CVOR cases are not scheduled or coverage is needed.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons nurses anesthesia staff and other members of the surgical team.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CVOR / Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist.
- Recent hands-on experience scrubbing:
- Cardiac bypass
- Valve replacement
- Robotic lung cases
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular OR procedures instrumentation and sterile technique.
- Ability to participate in approximately 10 call days per month.
- Must be able to meet the 30-minute call response time.
- Willingness to support general OR cases when needed.
