Job Summary
NO BENEFITSSchedule will be Monday - Friday 9am - 2pmUnder general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty involving greeting and providing services to customers at recreation centers answering phone calls filing entering and retrieving data into complex computer systems processing deposits and providing information to the public and co-workers. Assists with training new part-time staff. Processes rentals refunds requests for reimbursements and tracks and processes Qualifications: High school diploma or GED two years of customer service experience which involves interacting with the public in front of a desk environment or any combination of education training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Requires a valid Missouri drivers license. Must complete required NIMS level training and CPR certification within first six months of hire. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of recreation programs park locations and rental facilities City of Independence historic sites and attractions. Correct English usage including spelling grammar punctuation and vocabulary. General office procedures policies and practices as well as basic knowledge of computer and other general office equipment. Recordkeeping report preparation filing methods and records management techniques. Basic understanding of accounting practices standard business arithmetic including percentages and decimals. Computer applications related to the Requirements: Hand dexterity to operate personal computer and other equipment related to job. While performing the essential functions of this job the incumbent is regularly required to walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Typical Working Conditions: Works in a normal office environment where there are little to no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise dust dirt and the like. May be occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and fumes or airborne particles.
