Job Description:
The Customer service Representative serves as the SBOs primary contact for all patient billing inquiries. Acts as a liaison between UTMC/UTP and patients providers and payers for all post care matters related to account resolution. Provides information regarding hospital billing practices policies and patient billing statements. Assists patients in understanding billing statement to ensure swift resolution of outstanding balances. Fulfills the organizations mission of patient centered quality care by providing superior customer service to the patient community.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Working knowledge and understanding of the laws governing billing and collection practices required.
At least one (1) year experience in physician office or hospital setting preferred
Superior verbal and written communication skills. Utilizes effective communication to provide excellent customer service.
Strong attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Basic knowledge of insurance processing terminology
Actively participates in performance improvement activities as it relates to job duties.
Strong interpersonal/client relation skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse environment.
Ability to comply with procedural guidelines and maintain confidentiality
Ability to work independently prioritize and complete tasks within established timeframes.
Preferred Qualifications:
College Course work or degree preferred.
Epic Knowledge preferred
Previous experience in call center or dialer environment preferred
Knowledge of UB04 Billing Form and HCFA 1500 form preferred
Demonstrated knowledge in ICD10 and CPT-4 coding
