Custodian Supervisor A
Job Summary
Supervises directs and coaches employees on a variety of tasks including general cleaning floor care and set-ups. Responsible for the overall appearance and cleanliness of the facility and grounds. Provides oversight of set-ups and break downs associated with daily events in the meeting rooms lobbies ballrooms and exterior grounds. Responsible for shift duties that include cleaning lobbies bathrooms hallways meeting rooms ballrooms and office space by sweeping mopping scrubbing disinfecting etc. 30%
Oversees floor care to include stripping waxing scrubbing and buffing floors. Responsible for employees emptying trash and recycle containers and transporting waste material to outdoor refuse containers or recycling containers. Maintains outdoor areas by blowing sweeping and power washing. 30%
Assists with ordering supplies and maintaining inventory as required to operate facility. Composes and reviews daily written shift reports. Reviews daily/weekly set-up documents and addresses needs as required. Responsible for all work assignments reviewing and training employees evaluating job performance and coaching for improvement. Oversees attendance records time sheets and related paperwork to ensure timely flow to payroll department. Assists with interviewing candidates and makes recommendations on hiring. 25%
Responsible for initial custodial job training documentation and review. Conducts service training on equipment such as scrubbers burnishers and carpet cleaner/extractors. Trains and assists employees with mixing of chemicals and their proper usage. Performs quality control inspection of facilities and grounds. 10%
Assists with custodial/set-up duties when needed due to overflow crowds or events or employee call-ins. Performs other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor 3 Director of Facilities or other administrative Managers or Directors within the department. 5%
Minimum Qualifications:
No Test Score Required
Two years of experience in custodial housekeeping groundskeeping or food service work.
NOTE:
May be required to demonstrate physical ability to perform manual work.
This person must be capable of moving about in a 305000 square foot building multiple times daily to clean and prepare ballrooms meeting/conference rooms lobbies office space and exterior sidewalks patios and balconies. The person must also be able to ascent and descent the stairs of a 4 story building multiple times daily and stand for extended periods during cleaning processes. They must be capable to stoop kneel and crouch to pick up litter retrieve equipment and clean restrooms offices lobbies and maintain floors. This person should be capable of moving furniture that weighs 20-40 lbs or more and transport tables and chairs weighing 60-80 lbs to set-up for events throughout the building. Will use arms/hands to operate floor/power equipment used in preparing and maintaining floors. The person will work with and be exposed to common cleaning products.
