Positions: (1) Full-Time Custodian

Location: High School

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. - 11 p.m (during school year); Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m (during summer)

Start: Immediately

SUMMARY:

Maintain a clean and neat school facility and grounds for students teachers staff and members of the community in order to protect their health and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean designated spaces equipment and materials
  • Perform room and equipment set-up and breakdown for activities and events
  • Perform seasonal athletic fields and general grounds work
  • Perform general labor functions including unloading bulk material from trucks
  • Maintain building and grounds security
  • Report building grounds and equipment conditions that may need remedied or repaired
  • Participate in fire and emergency drills know emergency procedures and the location and use of first-aid and fire fighting equipment
  • Move furniture and equipment
  • Assists visitors utilizing the facilities
  • Responsible for the preservation and maintenance of assigned tools and equipment as well as assist in the repair of equipment and facilities
  • Operate various floor equipment including battery-powered auto-scrubbers/buffers and high-speed/high torque propane burnishers
  • Perform snow-removal both operation of fuel-powered snow removal equipment and manual removal using shovel
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience as a custodian and/or groundskeeper preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED certificate required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers students staff administrators and community members.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills.
  • Being proper stewards of district property materials and equipment.
  • Work with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
  • Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all inspection regulations safety codes and district requirements and school board policies.
  • Ability to push pull and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Must have a valid state drivers license with reliable transportation to travel between different district buildings on assigned shift.

* Successful candidate will be required to take post-offer; pre-employment drug test and work capacity evaluation (WCE). The WCE includes various physical attributes including push pull lift and carry.
