Seeking Custodians for Manufacturing facility Fremont CA.

Overview:

• $18.50/hour

Shifts:

• 10p-6:30a Tuesday-Saturday
• 6a-2:30p Thursday-Monday
• 2p-10:30p Friday-Tuesday

The Industrial Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean safe and orderly environment at a manufacturing facility. This position is employed by a third-party custodial services contractor and provides cleaning and housekeeping services in designated areas of the facility including offices breakrooms restrooms locker rooms walkways and approved production or industrial support areas.
The ideal candidate is dependable safety-conscious detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following all applicable facility policies contractor requirements and established cleaning procedures.

Work Environment
This position is performed inside a large manufacturing facility and may involve working near active production areas industrial equipment vehicles forklifts machinery noise dust cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures. The Custodian must remain alert to changing conditions and follow all established safety procedures.
Performance Expectations
The Custodian is expected to maintain assigned areas to established cleanliness standards complete work assignments efficiently respond promptly to housekeeping needs properly care for equipment and supplies and consistently demonstrate safe work practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain designated areas throughout the manufacturing facility including offices conference rooms breakrooms restrooms locker rooms and common areas.
• Sweep mop scrub and vacuum floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and approved products.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated collection areas in accordance with site procedures.
• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces tables countertops sinks fixtures and other frequently used areas.
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies including paper products soap and other assigned consumables.
• Maintain cleanliness in designated production support areas and industrial walkways without interfering with manufacturing operations.
• Follow established procedures for handling waste cleaning materials and custodial equipment.
• Use cleaning chemicals tools and powered equipment safely and according to training and manufacturer instructions.
• Place warning signs and barriers around wet floors or other temporary hazards.
• Identify and report spills damaged equipment unsafe conditions maintenance concerns and supply shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain custodial closets storage rooms and equipment areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow assigned cleaning schedules checklists quality standards and supervisor instructions.
• Respect facility security requirements restricted areas confidentiality expectations and all applicable site rules.
• Complete assigned duties within established timeframes while maintaining consistent cleaning quality.
• Perform additional housekeeping and custodial duties as assigned.

• Follow all safety policies established by the custodial employer and the Tesla facility.
• Complete required site orientation contractor onboarding and safety training before performing assigned duties.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) which may include safety glasses gloves high-visibility clothing hearing protection and safety footwear depending on the work area.
• Remain alert to forklifts automated equipment moving vehicles conveyors and active manufacturing operations.
• Never enter restricted areas operate production machinery or clean inside or around operating equipment unless specifically authorized and properly trained.
• Do not handle unknown substances hazardous spills oils chemicals or industrial waste outside the employees training and authorization. Secure the area and notify the appropriate supervisor or site safety personnel.
• Follow chemical labeling storage handling and disposal requirements including applicable Safety Data Sheet (SDS) procedures.
• Keep emergency exits designated walkways fire equipment and access routes clear.
• Immediately report workplace injuries near misses spills and unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor.

• Removing and Bailing Cardboard
• Moving and stacking Pallets
• Floor cleaning
• Fork truck operation

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend stoop kneel reach push pull and climb stairs as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbscarry and move cleaning supplies equipment and waste within the requirements of the position.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment safely.
• Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment including areas with noise varying temperatures and other normal facility conditions.
• Ability to wear required PPE for the duration of assigned work.

• Previous custodial janitorial housekeeping or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing automotive warehouse or industrial facility is preferred.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) highly preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment after appropriate training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to comply with all facility security safety and housekeeping requirements.
• Willingness to complete all required safety training and wear assigned PPE.
