Rates are for 25-26 school year and do not reflect any potential increases for the 26-27 school year
The job of Custodian is done for the purpose/s of maintaining an attractive sanitary and safe facility; providing adequate arrangements for meetings classroom activities and events; minimizing property damage loss and liability exposure ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe proper and timely manner and directing assigned custodians as necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Arrangesfurnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings classroom activities and events.
- Cleansschool facilities (i.e. classrooms offices multipurpose rooms grounds etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary safe and attractive environment including the use of power equipment and hand tools.
- Deliversvariety of items (e.g. supplies mail packages furniture etc.) for the purpose of distributing the materials to the appropriate parties.
- Informsstudents other site personnel and supervisor for the purpose of providing information regarding activities safety and/or proper maintenance of facilities.
- Operates and Diagnosesproblems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning/refrigeration/fire alarm systems for the purpose of identifying repair and replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems.
- Procuresequipment supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
- Repairs and paintswall surfaces for the purpose of maintaining and preserving facilities.
- Securesfacilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage loss and liability and ensuring safety at work site.
Stadium and Field Management Duties:
- Bathrooms - clean sinks toilet and floor; throw garbage; restock product; monitor and maintain during event
- Stadium - walk stadium and clean as needed; collect and get rid of garbage
- Pressbox - lights scoreboard sound system securing press box garbage
- Track/Field - Make sure turf field rules are being followed; make sure all garbage is gone at the end of the night
- Concessions Area - Make sure garbage is thrown and the area is left clean
- Security/Gate Management - Open/Close Gates
Other Functions:
- Assistsother personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Repairsfurniture and equipment for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
*High School diploma or equivalent.
*Prior job related experience with increasing levels of responsibilities preferably in school and/or institutional setting.

Knowledge and Skills:
*Knowledge of methods and use of cleaning materials equipment and supplies safe work practices.
*Skills to use cleaning agents; supplies and equipment; perform basic math to calculate accurate dilution of cleaning agents.
Working Conditions:
Ability to stand for prolonged periods follow oral and written instruction adhere to safe work practices work independently and with minimal supervision perform a variety of tasks adjust to flexible assignments often with short notice and communicate with students staff and the public.
Mental Demands: Usual office working conditions with exposure to numerous distractions and interruptions. Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time. Requires concentration and attention to detail for repetitive tasks; may deal with distraught or difficult individuals.
Physical Demands: Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling stooping reaching/handling near/far visual acuity/depth perception. Must be able to lift carry pull and/or push up to 50 pounds.
Examples of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling are furniture wastebaskets dumpsters ladders floor polishers vacuums; stooping is trash sweeping vacuuming; reaching/handling are vacuum supplies broom; visual acuity/depth perception is seeing where to clean vandalism.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals wax strippers and electric cleaning equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Protective equipment: rubber gloves safety glasses dust mask provided by school district. Protective shoes (no open toes or heels sandals thongs slippers) to be provided by employee.
Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol FBI fingerprint criminal history background check and Sexual Misconduct background check.
