Custodian
Job Summary
PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
Maintain a clean and healthy environment for clients staff and volunteers by performing a variety of maintenance and custodial tasks.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans offices bathrooms kitchens and common areas daily.
- Repairs and cleans rooms for new clients. Ensures rooms are appropriately furnished have linen and supplies.
- Completes repairs; replaces of furniture client rooms offices and common areas. Completes work orders and submits to Operations Manager when work is completed.
- Unloads and stores deliveries in storage area. Moves furniture and equipment as needed.
- Remove garbage daily from kitchens bathrooms office and common areas. Place garbage at curb for pick up by sanitation department.
- Clean and mop floors. Prepare floors for stripping and waxing as required.
- Performs minor plumbing electrical plastering and painting duties.
- Clears sidewalks and entrances of snow and spreads salt/ice melt to ensure clear and safe access to the facility.
- Maintains tools and equipment are maintained in working order.
- Reports observations which impact the safety and security of clients and staff to Operations Manager Program Director.
- Assist the Operations Manager in responding to corrective action plans by documenting completed repairs etc.
- Responds to emergency calls for maintenance issues. Will be on-call on a rotating basis.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Six months of experience providing maintenance/custodial services in a business or social service environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (including Physical Demands):
- Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 75 pounds several times a week.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Familiarity with equipment and processes associated with custodial work.
