Cultural & Community Engagement Professional

• Assists in planning developing organizing implementing and evaluating the activity programs of the facility.
• Participates in planned community activities (outings) related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the residents.
• Coordinates and plans events including scheduling room reservations catering requests room setup and technical requirements. 
• Provides ongoing activities (group and self directed) throughout scheduled workday.
• Ensures that external performers entertainers meetings and events that are scheduled on campus align with strategic vision of the community under the direction of the Arts Administrator.
• Ensures that residents are offered a variety of activities that promote social spiritual physical and cognitive functioning and are given the choice of attendance.

Qualifications :

Experience:

• Minimum one (1) year of Therapeutic Activities Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent experience (through volunteer work internship or paid experience) preferably with geriatric residents in a long term care setting.
• Bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation BS or BA preferred or equivalent experience (through volunteer work internship or paid experience) preferably with geriatric residents in a long term care setting.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel residents family members visitors government agencies / personnel and the general public.
