Job Summary

Definition of Position:Provides health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Radiographic procedures and related techniques producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Performs computed tomography and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Performs computed tomography to obtain diagnostic sectional images for interpretation by a licensed Job Functions:Performs diagnostic radiography proceduresCorroborates patients clinical history with procedure assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed patient for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results gain cooperation and minimize and operates radiography equipment and associated devices to achieve desired patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest respecting patient ability and patients as required for appropriate radiographic technique exposure factors minimizing exposure to patient and images for technical quality assuring proper identification is informed consent for and assists a licensed practitioner with interventional aseptic techniques as responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during agreement with state statute(s) and/or where institutional policy permits prepares identifies and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Initiates basic life support action when licensed practitioner with Fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures. Agency nurses will be floated to other departments where they are qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated. Computed Tomography specific dutiesOperates Computed Tomographic equipment and appropriate program for the desired methods and is capable of performing images for technical quality manipulates display parameters assuring proper identification. Maintains archival storage of digitized data as knowledge of and observes Universal patient education. Completed Computed tomography skills check by CT advanced user. Skills check to cover: Head Spine Chest abdominal and pelvis anatomy and safe contrast employee supports the hospital mission vision values policies and in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum).Performs other related duties as :EducationRequired: Associate or bachelor s degree from Radiologic Technology accredited : NALicenses/ certifications/ registrationsRequired: OBMI and ARRT registered CT technologist Current BLS certificationPreferred: CRASE training. If travel assignment extends beyond a 6-month period CRASEtraining will be required
