Job Summary
Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center-Ft Worth isseekingan experienced collaborative and visionary physician leader to serve as Medical Director of our adult intensive care units. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-acuity critical care program and partner closely with hospital executives and nursing leadership to drive excellence in patient outcomes quality safety and operational performance.
About the Role:
The Medical Director will provide clinical and administrative leadership for our MICU SICU CCU and CVICUs which total 40 ICU beds. This leader will oversee physician practice standards quality and safety initiatives operational performance and interdisciplinary collaboration while ensuring delivery of evidence-based patient-centered critical care.
This role includes protected administrative timecommensuratewith scope and responsibility.
Academic appointment with the Texas Christian University Burnett School of Medicine is available. Academic rankcommensuratewith experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical & Physician Leadership
Provide overall medical oversight of the ICU.
Ensure continuous 24/7 intensivist coverage andappropriate staffingmodels.
Lead physician performance oversight including peer review and professional practice evaluation.
Chair or oversee morbidity and mortality conferences.
Participate in credentialing and privileging decisions.
Maintainhigh standardsof evidence-based critical care practice.
Quality & Safety
Lead ICU quality improvement initiatives.
Monitor and improve key performance metrics including mortality length of stay ventilator days infection rates and sepsis compliance.
Oversee ICU dashboards and benchmarking against national standards.
Lead orparticipatein root cause analyses and corrective action planning.
Operations & Throughput
OverseeICUadmission discharge and transfer criteria.
Partner with hospital leadership tooptimizepatient flow and bed management.
Participate in operational and capital budgeting.
Support surge planning disaster preparedness and emergency response initiatives.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Foster strong interdisciplinary collaboration among physicians nursing respiratory therapy pharmacy and other clinical teams.
Promote structured multidisciplinary rounds.
Support physician engagement mentoring and retention.
Partner closely with ICU Nursing Leadership in a dyad leadership model.
Education & Strategic Development
Support residency and fellowship education.
Promote research innovation and evidence-based protocol development.
Participate in ICU strategic planning and service line growth initiatives.
Represent the ICU within hospital leadership committees and system initiatives.
Compensation based on experience
Qualifications:
MD or DO from an accredited institution
Board Certification in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine
Able to obtainlicenseto practice medicine in Texas.
Minimum 5 years of ICU clinical experience
Demonstrated leadership experience
