OverviewCoordinates accurate verification of approximately 8000 practitioner files for initial appointment and reappointment within established time frames and in accordance with the standards required by the accrediting/regulatory agencies for all Mercy Network Mercy Clinic and Mercy Hospitals.
This includes preparing and sending applications gathering entering and verifying information received in the application process and communicating verbally and written with applicants as necessary to complete their application. Specialist must be detail oriented and have ability to understand complex credentialing requirements needed by facility and variances for credentialing in multiple states. Must be deadline driven and can easily adapt to expedited requests. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details:
Education: Bachelors degree or previous data entry or credentialing experience may be substituted for education.
Experience: Previous credentialing or database entry experience preferred. Applicant must be detail oriented and able to work in a demanding and fast paced work environment. Analytical experience preferred.
Certifications: Valid certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Services management (CPMSM) preferred. Certification must be passed within two years of becoming eligible for exam.
Other: Detail oriented. Able to easily adapt to change. Self-starter. Position requires long hours sitting at a computer. Some travel is required. Position requires flexible hours outside of the normal workday.
Preferred Education: Bachelors degree preferred.
