Job Summary
MedCare Pediatric is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing pediatric outpatient therapy team. At MedCare Pediatric we provide individualized child-centered occupational therapy services in a supportive clinic-based environment. As a COTA you will work closely with a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide hands-on therapy that helps children develop fine motor skills sensory processing skills coordination self-care abilities and functional independence.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists Physical Therapists Speech-Language Pathologists and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to provide comprehensive pediatric care. - Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or eligible to obtain licensure by anticipated start date.
- Pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with children with developmental delays autism spectrum disorder (ASD) sensory processing challenges or neurological conditions is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Strong communication organization and teamwork skills.
- Passion for working with children and supporting families.
- Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Implement treatment plans focused on improving fine motor skills sensory integration visual-motor skills coordination strength self-care skills and independence.
- Assist children in achieving developmental milestones through engaging and age-appropriate therapeutic activities.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and patient progress.
- Communicate with families and caregivers regarding therapy goals and progress.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and other members of the pediatric therapy team to ensure high-quality patient care.
