Job/Department Summary:

The Costume Shop Assistant working independently under the lead work direction of the Performing Arts Technician III in the costume department is a member of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts professional production team serving the programmatic needs of the College and The School of the Arts. This position is responsible for a variety of technical and support duties providing costumes for theatre arts and musical productions. This position focuses on production support specific to costume design construction and general costume shop support. Incumbent is responsible for organizing their own projects including communicating project materials labor needs timelines and assisting in the training and supervision of students involved in productions.

Required Education and Experience:

Two years of experience working for a theater repertory stock company or garment industry engaged in the applicable production specialty such as costume/garment construction alterations or pattern making. This background normally would be achieved through professional training or applicable college coursework and practical experience.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:

• Theatrical fabrication experience.
• Garment industry experience.

Time Base: Part-time (.60)

Pay Plan: 10/12 (June & July off)

CSU Classification Salary Range:.60 timebase $22327 (Step 1) - $32522 (Step 20) per year.
