Costing Analyst

SUMMARY:The Costing Analyst is responsible for developing analyzing and maintaining accurate cost data to support financial planning operational decision-making and business strategy. This role partners cross-functionally to evaluate cost structures identify variances and provide insights that drive profitability efficiency and informed investment decisions across products and FUNCTIONS: Analyze and develop detailed cost estimates for labor materials overhead equipment and production using historical data actual performance and standard costing methodologies. Evaluate variances between estimated standard and actual costs; identify drivers and provide actionable insights to improve cost performance. Partner with operations procurement and finance to gather cost inputs validate assumptions and improve cost accuracy across products and processes. Support new product introductions and engineering changes through cost modeling analysis and financial impact assessments. Develop and maintain cost databases and reporting tools to track trends identify risks and support decision-making. Conduct profitability and margin analysis at the product customer or project level to inform business strategies. Participate in budgeting forecasting and cost reduction initiatives identifying opportunities for efficiency and savings. Assist in preparing business cases and financial models to support new business opportunities and capital investments. Ensure costing processes and documentation comply with internal controls and financial standards. May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Finance or another related field. 1-3 years experience as a costing or financial analyst; or equivalent combination of education and SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to work independently in a high-volume contracting environment. Ability to analyze a problem and recommend solutions problem solving skills. Ability to communicate both orally and in REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:Physical Requirements: Required to sit stand walk bend and reach.
