Overview
The Cost Control Analyst is responsible for tracking analyzing and validating maintenance-related spend across routine and major maintenance activities. This role ensures all contractor costs materials and rentals are accurately captured in SAP and properly classified (routine maintenance vs. major maintenance vs. capital vs Turnaround).
The Cost Control Analyst is responsible for tracking analyzing and validating maintenance-related spend across routine and major maintenance activities. This role ensures all contractor costs materials and rentals are accurately captured in SAP and properly classified (routine maintenance vs. major maintenance vs. capital vs Turnaround).
Key Responsibilities
- Track and accumulate daily contractor costs (labor materials rentals services)
- Review SAP transactions to ensure accurate cost coding and proper classification
- Validate that spend is correctly assigned to maintenance vs. capital or operations
- Monitor cost transfers between maintenance and capital projects
- Analyze cost trends and identify discrepancies or potential overruns
- Partner closely with Accounting and Operations to ensure financial accuracy
- Provide reporting and insights on maintenance spend and budget performance
Required Qualifications
- Experience using SAP for cost tracking and financial validation
- Experience tracking contractor spend including labor materials and rentals
- Strong understanding of the differences between routine maintenance major maintenance and capital project cost tracking
- Proven ability to manage and reconcile high-volume cost data
- Familiarity with contractor billing cost transfers and maintenance cost structures
Preferred Experience
- Experience in refining or chemical plant environments
- Background in routine maintenance and major maintenance
