POSITION - Union: Corrosion Technician (A and B acceptable)

LOCATION: CT - Orange - 60 Marsh Hill Rd
HOURLY WAGE RATE: $52.07 - $60.90
Responsibilities:
Responsible to not only work safely but to promote a safe work ethic and behavior.
Responsible for performing and interpreting required readings (i.e. annual test points isolated services casings bonds foreign crossings) in compliance with applicable codes standards and procedures.
Responsible for timely cathodic protection troubleshooting (i.e. low systems shorted conditions).
Responsible for timely creation of remediation work orders (i.e. install anodes clear short install insulator repair / replace test station). Follows through with necessary departments to ensure timely completion.
Works closely with peers from other utilities to maintain CP at franchise gate stations.
Responsible for performance of QA checks on reads performed by others.
Responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of rectifiers.
Responsible for maintenance of tools and equipment.
Responsible for atmospheric inspections for bridge crossings above ground piping that is dept. responsibility or other exposed piping as needed in accordance with procedures.
Understands use of unique equipment and tools used purposely for Cathodic Protection measures.
Provides corrosion control-related support to other Departments as needed for maintenance / repair.
Participates as needed in regulatory audits to ensure success.
Ability to install and/or replace an anode by mechanical means.
Education & Experience:
Past experience with use of hand tools.
Gas Pipeline experience.
Troubleshooting experience.
2 years field work of pipeline cathodic protection / corrasion control.
Successful completion of all current Operational Qualifications.
Frequent local travel with occasional out-of-town requirements.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
NACE CP1 Certification.
