Description of Work

This position is located at Caswell Correctional Center Caswell NC with a duty assignment to the medium custody facility. This facility houses and provides services for 484 inmates with a staff size of 155. Work in this job class will provide first-line supervision of Correctional Officer IIs in a medium custody facility.

Key Duties Included:

- Daily supervision of Correctional Officer activities and job performance to ensure that the custody security and welfare of offender is maintained.
- Conduct shift line-up create shift assignments to include duty area and post
- Inspect all personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post. Review maintain and complete time reports duty rosters leave schedules performance evaluations and administrative forms.
- This position will account for people and funds to ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready and implement operational procedures and ensure rules and regulations are followed according to policy.

Salary Range: $39244.00 - $68679.00

About The Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum medium close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety security and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff program facilitators and administrative personnel.
