The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work
Work in this class involves assisting the Warden IV in the management and operation of Warren Correctional Institution.This position has line supervision over the custody and operation functions but may assist the Warden in other areas.
This facility houses and provides services for a maximum of 851 offenders.
Responsibilities may include management of multiple locations usually a minimum custody facility which is managed within the scope of the larger institution.
Operation complexities are enhanced by considerable offender movement in support of a wide variety of programs multiple locations multiple populations and/or specialized services.
This position reports directly to the Correctional Administrator. There is also a Correction Enterprise plant (Janitorial Products) on site.
This position is located at Warren Correctional Institution Manson NC Warren County and is part of Central Region.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Grade Range: $55.221.00 - $96639.00
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have worked at a Captain level or higher.
- Documented supervisory skills in a prison facility
- Documented Knowledge of facility operations and Prisons Policy and Procedure
