Job Summary
CORPORATE / TRANSACTIONAL LEGAL ASSISTANT (Permanent)
Our client a local law firm in WNY is looking to add a Legal Assistant to their growing team. This is a newly implemented role due to growth and supports the attorneys in the Corporate/Transactional Department.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily responsibilities to support several attorneys with clerical/administrative responsibilities
- Prepare documents for the buying/selling of businesses formation of businesses (LLCs S-Corps etc.) and file with NYS Department of State
- Draft format proofread and revise operational agreements to ensure accuracy
- Manage a high volume of legal paperwork
- Act as an initial point of contact with clients managing correspondence and gathering critical/detailed information
- Manage a neat and detailed file systemboth electronic and hard copy
- Ensure documents are filled out correctly completely and in a timely manner
- Perform workflow management by tracking necessary deadlines and following up to ensure paperwork is completed and filed on time
- Collaborate with various internal team members to ensure operations run smoothly
- Juggle multiple tasks at a time in a fast-paced environment
- Work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full-time direct hire
- 100% in-office; standard 40-hour work week
- $25.00 $34.00/hour depending on experience
- Full single health insurance coverage 401k eligibility after 1 year PTO
- Experience in corporate or transactional legal assistance preferred
- Professional demeanor dependable work ethic ability to maintain confidentiality
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent computer/typing skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Relocation not available
