Job Summary

The Corporate Trainer supports the training and development needs of Corporate (CHQ) employees in line with global company strategies. This role includes but is not limited to supporting local training needs analysis delivery implementation evaluation and follow-up. The Corporate Trainer works in close collaboration with the Training Delivery team to achieve training and development goals for Corporate including by supporting Regional Trainer-led courses and Personnel Development programs. The Corporate Trainer also administers the internship program at CHQ and supports other global training programs.  By creating engaging positive learning experiences the Corporate Trainer prepares employees for meaningful professional advancement and helps build a culture of continuous development.

Corporate Training Responsibilities

  • Deliver support and coordinate instructor-led classes including virtual classes at Corporate
  • Schedule monthly training classes for Corporate and communicate to CHQ employees through newsletter delivered on first of every month; continually look for ways to enhance class offerings
  • Monitor enrollment for instructor-led classes and promote classes to fill open seats as needed
  • Coordinate all training materials needed for each class; support instructors of every class scheduled by CHQ Training
  • Support professional development opportunities at Corporate including Regional Trainer- led courses the Supervisor Program and Leadership Program
  • Complete all training PDC administration process and follow up; update CHQ learner profiles as needed
  • Monitor and support CHQ employees training requirements; send reminders as needed. Support Compliance Training Hero program and ensure 100% completion of compliance courses at end of annual reporting cycle
  • Support and assist CHQ people managers with their questions regarding new employee onboarding
  • Support employees and managers with PDC and training & development tools including LinkedIn Learning; assist learners in finding relevant training to close gaps

Other Responsibilities

  • Internship Program Serve as a global resource for the internship program and facilitate the global standards; collaborate with CHQ-GT to plan and administer the internship program at Corporate
  • Training Supply Orders Communicate with Training Delivery department regarding supply needs for training classes and place orders online; put away supplies when delivered
  • Collaborate with other members of Global Training Delivery team; support L&D programs as needed
  • Supports with Third Party vendors

Physical Demands

  • Stand for varying periods of time while delivering training classes.
  • Position resides at one of CHQ office locations. Travel between Corporate locations is required for meetings and to deliver or support in-person training. Own transportation is required.
  • Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse phone copy/scan machine etc.  
  • Write with pencil/pen/marker 
  • Functions performed primarily while seated at desk

Qualifications :

  • Strong skills as training facilitator for both in-person and virtual delivery with the ability to create energetic engaging learning experiences plus experience as virtual producer.
  • Confident presence when presenting to others in any environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English
  • Competence in employee development skills and knowledge to include:
    • Training
    • Coaching and Mentoring
    • Goal setting
    • Development conversations
    • Program Coordination
  • Work experience in coordinating multiple training events and programs; advanced organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation; understanding of ADDIE model
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management system (PDC) and web delivery tools Microsoft Teams
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs plan develop coordinate monitor and evaluate)
    • Proven ability to problem solve and implement solutions.
    • Strongs skills in creating and administrating programs and organizing complex training needs.
    • Global logistics industry knowledge
    • Proficiency with Microsoft 360 Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint

    Additional Information :

    Salary $80000-$100000 USD yearly.

    The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience skills location and market conditions.

    Corporate Trainer Role-Specific Expectations

    Supports Corporate Onboarding Program

    Works closely with management teams to offer the best onboarding experience to new hires to include presenting the employee with an onboarding training plan on their first day.  Ensures that new hires progress through general and role-specific new hire training in a timely manner.

    Supports Corporate Training Program

    Implements a robust training program for the district that meets employee and district training needs.  Coordinates the districts training schedule delivers District Trainer-led courses and ensures timely record keeping of internal and external training.  Assists management teams with creating and managing employee-training plans and supports development of training materials to meet local training needs. Works with GT training team to support their requirements in alignment with global Learning and Development. Manages district compliance with training requirements to include: annually required training NEO training 52 hours training OPA-required training and dangerous goods expiration dates.  Proficient in all learning functions of the PDC acting as a PDC expert for the district.

    Supports Employee Performance Cycle

    Assists management teams with the mechanics of documenting 1:1s and employee performance evaluations in the PDC.  Monitors timely completion of employee performance evaluations and 1:1s according to Expeditors and local requirements and directs managers to performance reporting in the PDC.

    Supports Performance and Growth

    Assists employees and managers with properly documenting relevant professional and/or career development goals in the PDC. Actively promotes employee growth in the district helping to identify training and development opportunities for employees. Supports Corporate employees with finding innovative ways to progress their career progression and mobility. Monitors retention and employee satisfaction at Corporate and supports plans to improve in this area. Supports upskilling employees in the areas needed to meet or exceed performance expectations.
