The job of the Coordinator of Operations and Facilities is done for the purpose/s of implementing managing and maintaining an efficient program to coordinate the daily operational needs of programs personnel and facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the students and staff of DCIU. As well as provide support for the asset management and capital improvement planning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collaborates with the DCIU Supervisor of Facilities center supervisors and program personnel to develop monitor and implement a maintenance schedule for all systems facilities and vehicles utilized by DCIU and students for the purpose of ensuring a safe environment and an efficient functioning program. Communicates with administrators DCIU personnel (e.g. CFO Operations Supervisor etc.) andoutside organizations (e.g. coordinating activities resolving issues and conflicts exchanging information participating in meetings workshops and seminars etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. Coordinate a variety of assigned projects and activities (e.g. school bus safety inspections food service inspections building inspections) for the purpose of delivering services in compliance with established guidelines. Coordinate with the Supervisor of Facilities to establish long and short-range plans for the assignedadministrative responsibilities (e.g. policies procedures staffing materials equipment space requirements repairs operation of environmental system etc.) for the purpose of ensuring program objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner. Assist in implementing comprehensive programs (e.g. for care of the ground around facilities pest control Safe Schools etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the cleanliness maintenance safety and security of DCIU facilities and transport vehicles ensuring compliance with federal state and local environmental regulations. Assists with closing moving and locating and evaluating new facilities and learning spacesincluding the development of a comprehensive security and safety program for the purpose of ensuring that the program functions safely and efficiently and supports daily operational needs.
Collaborate with Head Custodians to maintain inventory (e.g. fuel oil first aid and cleaning supplies etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items for a safe and clean environment while limiting the amount of waste and overstocking of supplies. Assist with personnel administrative functions (e.g. hiring training supervising evaluatingproviding professional development opportunities etc. for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing enhancing productivity ensuring program outcomes are achieved and meeting regulatory requirements. Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. staff parents students public agencies etc.) for the purpose of providing information facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction. Utilizes data from a variety of sources (e.g. Fiscal work orders requisitions etc.) for thepurpose of projecting the present and future operational needs for the program. Attends project meetings for the purpose of maintaining open lines of communication monitoring processes and analyzing data. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Performs other duties as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Education Required: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in a job-related area or five or more years of progressively responsible related experience in facilities/operations. Understanding of PA state regulatory building codes for schools
