Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY
Promote access to programs and education that strengthen the financial foundation for local families by increasing awareness of the Heart of Florida United Ways Financial Stability Initiatives. The coordinator will assist with the management of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and conduct outreach for the Bank On Greater Orlando Coalition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Assist with VITA volunteer recruitment training and onboarding internal and external volunteers including volunteer tax preparers/quality reviewers/coordinators to serve at VITA sites.
  • Assist with the planning development and implementation of technologies and protocols to operate VITA sites safely and securely.
  • Provide guidance and support to VITA site coordinators including assisting with tax preparation and/or providing Quality Reviews at underserved sites.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the VITA tax program EITC tax law community resources services and financial literacy.
  • Assist in development and implementation of financial education/literacy training activities and other related services as required.
  • Inventory and coordinate distribution of VITA equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain detailed accurate and timely records of programmatic data using required systems.
  • Facilitate outreach events to increase knowledge of VITA and Bank On program services.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist with providing detailed reporting on program outputs and outcomes.
  • Collect participant success stories to highlight program achievements.
  • Maintain client and staff confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA FIPA PHI PII requirements.
  • May be classified as essential requiring prompt and effective action during critical situations to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
  • Contribute to overall organizational success by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Job requirements include:

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • One year of experience in nonprofit social services or education preferred.
  • One year of experience in banking or financial services preferred.
  • Volunteer Standards of Conduct Intake/Interview & Quality Review Site Coordinator and Advanced Tax Preparer certifications must be complete upon hire prior to the first tax season and annually.
  • Public speaking experience preferred.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • Customer relationship management database experience preferred.
  • Customer service skills and experience required.
  • Ability to edit complete and assemble reports.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
  • Strong communication skills both written and orally required.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to utilize organizational skills effectively.
  • Must have access to a private secure and stable high-speed internet connection.
  • Must have access to a quiet confidential workspace.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands include:

Working conditions include:

  • Occasional working in outdoor environment with high or low temperatures.
  • Occasional early mornings evenings and weekend hours.
  • High level of long periods of concentration.
  • Frequent interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Occasional travel to multiple locations in Orange Osceola and Seminole Counties.
