Cook I

The Cook is primarily responsible for preparation of entrees vegetables soups cereals sauces fried items and other food serviced from the production area. Other responsibilities include proper handling and storage of all food and sanitation of work the work area. It is the goal to produce attractive palatable nutritious and safe food to all our customers.

• Prepare and produce hot food items supporting ordering portioning and assembly to ensuretimelyservice
• Handle store andmaintainfood safely and cost-effectively in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards
• Monitor and record food and equipment temperaturesmaintainingequipment cleanliness and proper operation
• Follow recipes and procedures to ensure high-quality safe and appealing meals
• Train team membersmaintaincleaning logs manage food inventory and help reduce waste

Education:

• High School Education or Equivalentrequired.

Experience:

• At least one yearofcooking or food service experience and the ability to perform at the cooks level within six months in this position.
• Preferred:Two years of cooking experience in a healthcare or restaurant setting preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Food Handler Certification SERVSAFEupon hire.
• IA/IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care required within90 daysof hire.
• IA/IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing Care required within90 daysof hire.
