Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to hotel recipes brand standards and food safety guidelines. This position plays an essential role in ensuring our guests receive high-quality meals while maintaining a clean organized and safe kitchen environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast lunch dinner banquet and special event menu items.
• Follow standardized recipes portion controls and presentation standards.
• Maintain food quality freshness and consistency.
• Properly prepare ingredients by washing cutting measuring and portioning.
• Ensure all food is stored labeled dated and rotated according to food safety standards (FIFO).
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment workstations storage areas and walk-in coolers.
• Assist with receiving stocking and organizing food deliveries.
• Monitor inventory and notify management of product shortages.
• Follow all health department regulations and company food safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure timely service.
• Assist with banquet functions and special events as needed.
• Perform opening closing and side work duties.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel restaurant or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare multiple menu items simultaneously while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be dependable punctual and maintain a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend reach stoop kneel and work in hot or cold kitchen environments.
• Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.

Schedule Requirements

This position requires flexible availability including:

• AM and PM shifts
• Weekdays and weekends
• Holidays
• Overtime as business demands require
• Ability to cover call-outs and assist during peak occupancy special events and banquet functions
