Location: Madison Wisconsin This is a full-time 100% on-site leadership opportunity where youll collaborate closely with executives project managers and operations teams in a fast-paced construction environment.

Note: To be considered candidates must have at least 2 years of Controller-level accounting experience within the construction or mechanical contracting industry. Construction accounting experience is required.

Job Description

• Lead all accounting and financial operations for a growing construction organization.
• Oversee budgeting forecasting financial reporting cash flow management and internal controls.
• Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
• Manage all accounting functions including AP AR payroll and general ledger.
• Partner with project managers to review job costing labor analysis and project profitability.
• Perform cost analysis and variance reporting to identify opportunities for improved financial performance.
• Support pricing strategies forecasting and long-term business planning.
• Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage insurance renewals claims audits and related financial activities.
• Develop mentor and lead the accounting team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
• 2 years of Controller-level accounting experience in construction or mechanical contracting.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting job costing budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience managing accounting teams.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Sage 300 CRE is highly preferred.
• CPA or Masters degree is a plus.
• Excellent analytical leadership and communication skills.
