We are seeking an experienced hands-on Controller to serve as the senior financial leader for an established multi-location steel fabrication and manufacturing business in Houston. Reporting directly to executive leadership you will oversee accounting operations establish modern processes and internal controls mentor a growing team and help guide the company through an upcoming ERP implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting monthly close financial reporting and GAAP compliance.
- Manage inventory accounting standard costing job costing and WIP tracking in partnership with plant operations.
- Supervise mentor and build a high-performing accounting team focused on accountability and continuous process improvement.
- Streamline workflows reduce manual/paper-based tasks and lead process cleanup in preparation for a future ERP implementation.
- Prepare annual budgets cash flow forecasts and executive reports; assist with banking relationships lender reporting and annual tax/audit coordination.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required or strongly preferred.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience with 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standard costing job costing WIP and QuickBooks.
- Prior experience evaluating or implementing ERP systems is a strong plus.
- Hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a track record of driving process improvements.
