QBE LLC is seeking a Controller to support all accounting functions in the Haymarket Corporate office. This position will be reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance.
This role is a hand-on senior-level accounting professional responsible for overseeing the organizations accounting operations financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Managing day-to-day accounting audits and Accounts receivable. Managing a small team and assisting in improving accounting policies for a fast-growing organization.
QBE is looking for someone to partner up with the Sr. Finance Director and drive financial transformation initiatives including process improvement automation AI-enabled efficiencies building scalable accounting infrastructure capable of supporting rapid organizational groups.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
- Maintain internal controls and strengthen them as the company grows
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors
Accounting Operations
- Supervise accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and general ledger
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
Budgeting Forecasting & Analysis
- Develop financial statements and work with finance to understand financial forecasts
Cash Management & Treasury
- Monitor cash flow and working capital
- Manage banking relationships and credit facilities
- Oversee cash disbursements and optimize liquidity
- Support investment or financing decisions
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Partner with the Sr. Direct of Finance to guide financial strategy
Systems Processes & Technology
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across financial systems
Tax & Regulatory Oversight
- Coordinate federal state and local tax filings
- Ensure compliance with sales tax payroll tax and other obligations
- Work with external tax advisors as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required (CPA preferred)
- 10 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Experience operating within a fast-growing small business organization with multi-entity multi-location or operational complex organization
- Strong technical accounting foundation with GAAP and DFAR
- Proven success leading accounting transformations control enhancements process improvement and organizational buildout initiatives
Preferred System Qualifications:
- Experience of working with ERP system Unanet
- Experience with implementing expense management systems such as Concur
