Start your career in public service. The DHS Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) Child Welfare is seeking candidates to fill the position of Contracts Administrator 3 reporting to the Unit Manager. This position is in downtown Atlanta Fulton County.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as job expert or organization resources for Room Board and Watchful Oversight contracts.
  • Coordinate with contractors and other internal entities.
  • Coordinate implementation of contracts.
  • Prepare process and reconcile contract documents and reimbursement requests.
  • Review contract specifications before solicitation and ensure available funding.
  • Serve as the administrator for SHINES Portal user accounts.
  • Develop process and track invoices and budget for supplemental service provider contracts.
  • Conduct training and presentations to contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Work in a very fast-paced environment while effectively and accurately managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of State of Georgia contracting grants administration or accounts payable policies/procedures.
  • Work independently with limited direction.

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge education job or intern experience training or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent oral written presentation and interpersonal communication skills strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
  • Working knowledge of State of Georgia contracting grants administration or accounts payable policies/procedures.
  • Work in a very fast-paced environment while effectively and accurately managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Work independently with limited direction.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and developing spreadsheets.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and six (6) years of contracting job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Contracts Administrator 2 (LEP031) or position equivalent.--Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge education job or intern experience training or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
