Job Summary

Seeking a skilled and motivated Contract Surety Underwriter to join a team. As a Contract Surety Underwriter will play a pivotal role in underwriting surety bonds analyzing financial data and fostering strong relationships with brokers and clients. Responsibilities

As a Contract Surety Underwriter your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing financial statements job schedules credit reports and other underwriting documentation to assess risk and determine appropriate coverage terms.
  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with brokers clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Making timely and informed underwriting decisions in alignment with company standards and guidelines.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to brokers and clients.
  • Staying informed on market conditions industry trends and regulatory changes to support sound underwriting practices.
  • Managing multiple priorities effectively while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all underwriting activities.
Qualifications/Requirements

To be successful in this role you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting or a related field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant underwriting or related experience.
  • Strong financial analysis skills including the ability to evaluate financial statements and credit reports.
  • Proven ability to assess and price risk independently.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of surety or bond underwriting is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
