Job Summary

Contract Custodian for Arc of Onondaga

**Full-Time/Part-Time Positions Available**

In accordance with Source America and the New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) Arc of Onondaga invites applications from veterans and or people that have documented disabilities that would inhibit their ability to acquire and maintain competitive employment. The purpose of these contracts is to provide opportunities to both veterans and those with disabilities seeking employment.

The Contract Custodian is responsible for the cleaning and general upkeep of their assigned facility(s) which may include interior and exterior work depending on contract. The duties of this position include cleaning disinfecting dusting mopping sweeping vacuuming trash removal window cleaning and any other tasks that may be included as part of the contract requirements. Shampooing of carpets and stripping /waxing floors along with floor burnishing may also be included in scope of work. Work will typically be performed at a clients site within the community. This position is also responsible for the safe use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

At least six months of custodial janitorial or related experience preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Ability to travel independently to assigned work sites and report to work reliably and on time.
