Job Summary
smartdept. is searching for a Mid-Level Copywriter for a branding and creative agency client located in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience. This is a part-time hybrid (one day per week onsite) contract opportunity through the end of July.
This copywriter will support the development of copy for white papers print materials social media and an array of marketing communications. Theyll work closely with the teams Writer Storyteller and Project Coordinators on a range of B2B and corporate communications projects.
What Youll Do:
- Craft award submissions
- Write and edit blog copy
- Optimize website content based on analytics
- Write white papers and case studies
- Develop social media content
- Deliver copy in documents formats and artifacts that make design and development easy
- Review and digest strategic assets to understand business and organizational objectives
- Collaborate closely with designers and internal teams
What Youll Need:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree preferably in marketing communications branding or a related field required
- 5 years of experience writing copy for marketing and digital materials required (up to 10 years preferred)
- Extensive experience collaborating with designers
- Significant experience in B2B/corporate/strategic communications (vs. B2C)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- A clever succinct writing style
- Strong understanding of the difference between copywriting and writing
- Solid grasp of branding and brand development
- Ability to brainstorm and think creatively on the fly
- A portfolio with different types of work samples (print digital etc.) demonstrating range across media
