Job Summary

Continuing Education - Climate Trades Instructor
The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Instructorswill provide skills-based training and experiences in a traditional ornon-traditional classroom setting and/or lab environment. The instructionprovided will be specific to participants enrolled in the Climate Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) program seekingto enter careers in the expanding Clean Energy Industry.

Thequalified trainer will participate in training needs assessment using varioustechniques conduct interactive and engaging training (at multiple sites aroundthe region) for cohorts or participants using alternative and non-traditionalmethodologies appropriate and effective for working with adult learnersworking with the Instruction and Assessment Coordinator to prepare and/orselect education materials and assist with the development and/or evaluationof new curricula and program designs.

Trainerswill be responsive to input from local employers to address specificprofessional development needs on behalf of their workforce; customizedsolutions will be designed and delivered in a variety of modalities to bestserve participants. The demand for tailored curriculum fluctuates; thereforethe need for a specific skillset may not be immediate.

Solar Technology (photovoltaic)
Wind Turbine
Industrial Maintenance
HVAC
Weatherization / Energy Auditing
Electrical
Electric Motor Repair
Electric Vehicle Maintenance
EV Automotive Service Technician
EV Charging Station Installationand Maintenance
Electric Medium and Heavy-DutyVehicle Assembly


Qualifications:

  • Experience with field training and/or classroom instruction preferred.
  • Candidates should be comfortable and capable of demonstrating competency using video conferencing platforms and instructional technologies.
  • Experience in a clean energy field is preferred.
  • Position is located in the Western Suburbs Illinois.
