With 50 locations and 100 programs in NYCs most under-served communities our 1000 results-oriented professionals make a difference for more than 40000 children and their families each Content Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and assistance in several facets of the creation of curriculum; including resource acquisition coaching and instructional Functions: Provides guidance in development of curriculum. Assists in identifying and acquiring lesson resources. Aids staff in planning writing and implementing high-quality content-rich lessons. Observes and coaches Group Leaders and Activity Specialists in establishing best practices for facilitation and lesson plan development. Collaborates with Program Director and school administration to identify appropriatethemes and objectives for educational content. Supports in professional development of staff to ensure program Responsibilities:Oversees staff implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) by ensuring lesson plans are submitted on time and align with program goals. Provides constructive feedback to strengthen lesson quality and promote engaging hands-on learning experiences for participants. Conducts regular observations to assess PBL facilitation ensure fidelity to the model and support staff in improving instructional Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Education Youth Development or related field. Minimum 1year supervisory experience Strong experience with curriculum planning for young people (middle school). Knowledge of youth development principles and theories. Knowledge of Common Core Standards. Experience coaching and training with strong leadership conflict resolution anddiplomacy skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
