Consumer Service Analyst

The Consumer Service Insurance Analyst will primarily be tasked with answering questions from consumers and reviewing insurance complaints. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are detail oriented and have a comprehensive professional knowledge of health insurance state and federal laws. Knowledge of life insurance is also helpful. Most of the consumer complaint review work is done independently with ample opportunities for collaboration with a larger team to discuss issues or policy questions as they arise. Organization skills as well as the ability to clearly communicate verbally and written compliance issues with companies are integral to the position.

Key Responsibilities

As a Consumer Service Analyst for health insurance you will:

  • Advocate for health insurance consumers to ensure insurance benefits are compliant and provide required consumer protections.
  • Review and analyze health insurance complaints to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Effectively communicate with insurers regarding complaint findings.
  • Negotiate compliant and reasonable solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in the health insurance industry.
  • Consumer services and conflict resolution experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of health insurance laws life insurance is helpful.
  • Strong well-rounded computer and writing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Able to read understand apply and explain federal and state laws.

Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:

  • Individuals with experience in advocating and engaging with consumers are preferred.
  • Individuals with experience in managing telephone communications is preferred.
  • Individuals with extensive health insurance experience are preferred.
