The role combines technical surveying expertise with project management skills to ensure accuracy compliance and efficiency across the project Responsibilities:Lead and manage survey teams for one or more projects coordinating across disciplines like building highway bridge and tunnel constructionPlan and supervise topographic surveys layout staking as-built surveys and control networksReview and interpret design drawings RFC plans and technical specifications to ensure accurate field implementationEstablish and maintain project control points benchmarks and survey networksOversee field operations including task allocation productivity and safety complianceOperate and maintain survey equipment (Total Stations GPS Levels Trimble systems) and ensure proper calibrationCoordinate with construction managers field engineers and design teams to resolve discrepancies and validate dataProcess and integrate survey data into design platforms like Civil 3D/Terra model/Trimble Business Center (TBC)Implement quality control procedures for all survey deliverablesPrepare and maintain accurate survey documentation and reports for project records and handoverMentor and develop junior surveyors and technical staffTypical QualificationsEducation: Associates degree in surveying Civil Engineering Geomatics or related field or related field experienceExperience: Preferred 10 years in heavy civil and highway infrastructure projects with proven survey team management experienceLicenses: Land Surveying License (RLS PLS PE) preferredTechnical Skills: Proficiency in survey data management TBC Civil 3D Bentley as well as the technical knowledge base to understanding heavy civil construction sequences schedules and : Hands-on experience with Trimble systems GPS RTK total stations levels and any other modern equipment being implemented. Our teams often rely on Survey Management to be on the front end of knowledge related to new hardware or new equipment that has become available in the market particularly as it relates to Machine Control and As-built Skills: Strong leadership communication problem-solving and ability to work full-time on-site with a dynamic ContextThis role is typically onsite based for the duration of the project often in large-scale roadway or infrastructure projects.
