Construction Safety Specialist

• Establishes and maintains a working relationship with personnel to identify evaluate and control potential hazards in the workplace
• Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure hazards are identified and engineering and administrative controls are in place
• Attend daily pre-job brief for construction activities
• Maintain communications with site management and contractors to ensure safety coverage is provided during off shift
• Assists with inspections analysis and evaluation of planned work plant facilities contractor activities materials equipment and other conditions to determine the accident potential
• Applies state and federal regulations in day-day oversight
• Responsible for site industrial safety compliance and has full stop work authority for any activity that violates or has a probability of violating these requirements
• Participates in projects assigned

• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.
• Associates degree in Industrial/Occupational Safety or related field or equivalent experience
• Five (5) years of experience in Safety and Health preferably in the construction industry

• B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field with eight (8) or more years of experience in the construction industry
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification
