Madden Marine is seeking Marine Flooring Installers for our client supporting ship repair and marine decking projects in Portland OR. This role supports flooring installation and decking repair work aboard marine vessels and shipyard environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with carpet flooring installation demolition and working safely in industrial or marine environments.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $21.50$24.80/hour DOE

Shift: Day Shift 5:00 AM 1:30 PM

Schedule Expectations: Overtime and weekend work

Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Install marine decking products including carpet carpet tile vinyl rubber flooring ceramic tile sheet goods epoxy systems and underlayment

  • Demolish and remove existing flooring and decking materials as needed

  • Prepare and prime steel surfaces prior to installation

  • Use power and air tools including grinders needle guns demolition hammers sanders scarifiers and related equipment

  • Mix and apply materials per manufacturer specifications

  • Load and transport materials tools and equipment throughout vessels and job sites

  • Build containment and maintain clean organized work areas

  • Support mobilization and demobilization of job sites

  • Follow all safety procedures PPE requirements and marine work regulations

  • Lead or mentor helpers and apprentices as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in carpet flooring installation flooring installation tile work demolition or related construction trades

  • Ability to work safely in marine and industrial environments including work over water

  • Experience using hand tools power tools and demolition equipment

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work

  • Ability to lift carry kneel bend and work in confined or industrial spaces

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required

  • US Citizenship required

  • Ability to pass respirator fit testing

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen including THC testing

  • Safety-toed boots (6 or higher steel or composite toe) required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with carpet vinyl tile epoxy terrazzo or marine flooring systems

  • Previous shipyard or marine construction experience

  • Experience leading helpers or apprentices

  • Experience with surface preparation and steel priming

Work Environment

This role operates in marine and shipyard environments aboard active vessels and industrial job sites. Work includes exposure to industrial equipment noise confined spaces work over water and physically demanding conditions. PPE and safety compliance are required at all times.
